Grabbing the ID of a reply to a QOTW (easily to find by clicking on 'I Like This's Pop Up), and use that ID as a reply's ID, you can make nested replys.
See this one for an example.
Also, 'reply' should go on the end, for consistency's sake.

Can we have a stats thing with graphs and such? Mainly because I'd like to visualise how much the posts drop during drivetime. From this, we can learn how long it takes the average B3tan to commute home from work, have a shower, have their tea and then sit down at their computer.

but I tried a search of 'ignore function' on the qotw and didn't see it.
Please can you fix it so that if we have someone on ignore, we don't see their posts on the popular pages? When I want to ignore someone, I want to ignore them totally. It's quite hard to provoke me into ignoring someone, so in order for me to have done it they have to be a total wankspleen that I don't want to see at all.

then when I want to post I'll blink in morse code and you can type it in for me

like on sickipedia, where not only can we vote things up, but down as well.

I'm sure this has been suggested plenty, but why do all sub-threads attached to a deleted thread get deleted too?
Can't you just replace the deleted text or image with the words "THREAD DELETED BY HAMTOUCHER" and keep all the sub-threads intact? Please?

But how about when someone posts a picture on /board they are required to "Tag" their image for the search option.
There's a few times I've wanted to search for a picture and had to try to remember words from the original post to find it.
If we tagged our images with simple words like "cat", "cdc" etc it would help with searching.

'God edit: Roses are red, violets are blue, the 50k rule applies to you too.'
or at least part of a comedic play on words. ACTION THIS NOW!!!!one!

but it's actually made the problem worse, now I get a series of six or seven consecutive "Object required" errors for Line 52 when I navigate away from /links
edit: it's 12 alert boxes - using IE7, so sue me, I never liked Firefox
VS debugger says it's this line:
function __flash__removeCallback(instance, name) {
instance[name] = null; <-- THIS ONE
}
QuickWatch says
instance == null
name == "setVolume"

please add a 'castanets' button for us to click or we will dance fiery dances in protest.

It gives examples of what you can search for, but doesn't tell you what can be done and how to do it.
I know, for example, that you can search for a specific word in posts by one particular person. Fucked if I know how to do it, though, until somebody else posts a link to a similar search they've done.

I like how qotw/offtopic just scrolls down forever, makes it so much easier to follow the conversation

Because so many urban legends have been posted in recent qotws that it's like reading Snopes.

where it displays recent front page messages, needs to be widened to coincide with the new front page width.
Example

Would it be possible to put an icon next to gazzes that have been replied to? This will help me quickly see which ones need replying to without checking my 'sent' box.

It's annoying when I want to check for GC-ness but have to pop over to /talk or /board to find the search page.

for new members. the current ones are all boring. i say we get to them early. before 4chan.

A place where we could post feature requests or report bugs would be good.

to try and avoid unintended repetition of other people's work, perhaps the option to submit tags with one's own images, i.e. 'Star Trek Cabbage Monster' so that you can be aware of other similar images even if the original artist doesn't use descriptive text in the title or the body of the message.

If enough people vote for it to be pulled, then a replacement 'kittens are great' compo should be put there instead.
Like this weeks for example (smilies) I havent even bothered checking the compo for a few days, because there is nothing new to see.
'I veto this compo' button.
and yes, I know that I should contribute more to it, but it would make no difference to the 6 pages that are already there.
Please dont kill me.

how about images can't be wider than what would be on the front page, so you would have a button to expand all images to the size they were when were uploaded.

Badges are a fun part of b3ta profiles... how about a feature that allows a user to create a badge that they can then award to other users (through the system, not informally like it is now) and then profiles can have an official badge display case. "I survived the attack of the 50ft woman" etc.

but when editing a post reply, once the edit has been saved, you're returned into the parent forum, rather than the post itself.
Any way this can be sorted, please?

Hey I thought this might be a good idea for the links page.
Let's say there is an extra option for each link posted "This is Glass Clock" or suchlike. Every click notches it up the scale of glass cockness.
Then in your profile settings you could have something like "Don't show me links with a glass cock rating of n or above", 'b' being your chosen level.
Just an idea, so people will see everything by default unless you're a misserable fucktard, then you can rate as glass cock and have it removed from view rather than piss and moan about it. ;)

Build right into the editor. So drawing a cdc doesn't even require the effort of moving the mouse to the start button and whizzing through looking for the magenta paintbrush...
or a dress up jesus page, in ascii art.

Well, it's rubbish isn't it. People can't see what you're posting. Can we get rid of it please?
EDIT: Also, please fix the search bug I reported last month :(

Once a QOTW closes, would it be an intolerable pain in the hoop to organise posts by number of votes? That way for really good ones we could have more that one page of "best" stories.
Also, could we see how many votes each story got please?
Thank you Uncle B3ta!
