This is a question Why should you be fired from your job?

I spent three years "working" in the Ministry of Agriculture carefully crafting projectiles out of folded paper and drawing pins that I would then fire at colleagues with an elastic band. On discovering I'd been conducting all-out warfare when I should really have been in a field counting cows, I was asked to "reconsider my career options" outside the service.

Why, then, should you be fired from your job?

This is a QotW answer You mean I *work* here?
See, my problem is I get bored. I remember that it was the most consistent thing about all my report cards in primary school: "Exceptionally capable - IF you can keep him interested".

So, every time I start a new job, I work very hard for a few months until I know the job and the surrounding issues better than anyone else. I become invaluable... and then I stop working. I just lose interest, and start coasting, keeping an eye out for more interesting jobs.

Thus I've been promoted three times in the last 2 years of working for the Council (yes, we are all cnuts, especially as you go higher up). I always get great references because I do a great job but my boss wants rid, and I have massive enthusiasm for the next job so I get through interview.

My current job morphed from IT Trainer to Systems Developer, because they didn't have anyone who could do it and I thought it was interesting. Now ABSOLUTELY NOBODY has a fucking clue what I do or how I do it, but I seem to do about 15 minutes of actual work in any given day and spend the rest pissing about online, except for a fortnightly project meeting where I tell them what the hell I like and try to indicate that I'm simplifying things for them.

Sad Fact #1: In spite of doing very little, I really do know what I'm doing, and they need me.

Sad Fact #2: The other developer, who works for IT, works very hard at this job. He's just a thick fat pillock who manages to acheive less in a week than I do. This is why I'm now the Lead Developer(!)

I'm not proud of the above. I'm just very, very bored. I might see if the missus fancies coming in and hiding under the desk for a bit...
