This is a question Phobias

What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

This is a QotW answer OK, not a phobia, but on the subject of unhappy food combinations
my mother used to cook a dish which was basically

- bananas
- wrapped round each banana, a slice of "plastic" (i.e. cheap and horrible) ham
- covered in cheese sauce
- baked.

Challenge - anyone's parents come up with a worse meal.

And this wasn't a one-off. Oh no. I must have eaten this tens if not hundreds of times...

This is a QotW comment My Dear Mother
Used to serve Wombat Steak.

Despite the fact that I would happily eat a Wombat, living in Scotland rather than Oz would suggest either a really well stocked butchers (unlikely, this was the 70s) or Mumsie was lying.

She was.

It was apparently the only way I'd eat liver.

I had no memory of this until it was brought up (appropriately enough) when I was discussing the feeding of my own spawn.

Liver.

*urgh*

This is a QotW comment I was in a rush to grab some lunch today
And managed to pick up a cheese and onion sandwich instead of a cheese and colslaw one.

I'm sitting here frowning harder with every bite I take :(

This is a QotW comment my Scots Canadian grandmother
Gawd rest 'er, used to feed my dad boiled beef mince, accompanied by small vegetable chunks in jelly. Actual fruit jelly, like lime or strawberry.
