AnthropomorphismYes (almost) more than anything else this causes me a powerful rage.

Anyway, I think the next time I hear somebody say "Awh, isn't that dog happy!" I'll cut them open, fuck their still-twitching heart, then wear them as a coat.

Your examplewouldn't bother me. Things can look happy, or sad, or grumpy, while obviously not being those things.
It's when people think that the dog is happy, because it "looks" so.
