Birmingham Summer Bash!

******* Anyone requiring a lift from the train station should gaz BraynDedd in advance. *******

Buses: Birmingham New Street to the bus stop. Colmore Row is full of bus stops. You'll want either the 258, 192, 140, 9, 19, 138 or 139. If you're getting the bus here give me a call when you're on your way & I'll give you more detailed directions & make sure that you're brought from the bus stop this end to my house. Buses cost £1.50 for a single journey & Brum public transport is shit & doesn't give change. I can pretty much guarantee that nobody will be choosing this option, but I thought I should at least offer it in the interests of being environmentally friendly or whatever.

Edit edit edit: I'm living internet-free at the moment (I know - horrible), so can't check back here, or reply to gazzes most of the time. I'll put my number up closer to the time, but I'll check back whenever I can, to make sure that there are no unanswered queries, etc. If there's anything urgent, I'm sure BraynDedd can get in touch with me on your behalf :)

Edit: In case any of you are a bit scared of sleeping in a house full of b3tans, or just want a bit of privacy (you never know around here), have a link to a very local hotel.

I've just looked & there are still some rooms available & you can book in advance for less than £30. The hotel is about an easy 5 minute walk from my front door, so you can easily stagger back there in the evening & return to my house the next morning without a problem.

Also, BraynDedd just informed me that he'll be giving lifts from the train station, blah blah blah. I'll give out my phone number to those who don't yet have it nearer the time, so you can just call us when you're in. I'm also hoping to talk one of my Real Life friends into doing the same - try not to break his mind too much.


The essential basic premise:

I have a family house to myself & am therefore pretty much offering enough crash space for anyone who may possibly want to come - it will pretty much end up being a case of sleep where you fall, but nobody will end up on the street.

*obvious disclaimers about not trashing it, please*


The original idea sounded like this:

Ooh, we could have a two day summer bash! Like across a weekend, or something. The Saturday could be sitting in a park in the sunshine, getting a bit drunk, maybe playing a few casual ball games, etc. Then the Saturday night could be the pubs & clubs of Brum before returning to mine for the night. Then the Sunday could be dossing around my house & garden, recovering from the night before, watching trashy telly / DVDs & eating hangover food.


I shall be providing a fair bit of food & some booze, but you should feel free to bring:
- Any DVDs you may want to watch whilst we're all feeling crappy on the Sunday. My film library is infamously poor.
- Booze! Especially if you're intending to drink loads / anything out of the ordinary.
- Food - I'll cover the basics & a bit more, but we're internet fatties & can always force more junk down our throats if you're offering to supply it.
- Bed stuff - there's a fair bit of floor space around & about, but not much bed linen, etc.
- There is garden space, but I haven't worked what the tent situation will be yet. Let me know if you're thinking of bringing one.



There's probably more stuff I should be saying, but that will do for now. If you have any questions at all, just ask below, or gaz me.

but I can't tell where (& roughly when) it is we're actually supposed to go.
