ROFL

# you been
tampering with the pills while no-ones looking again?
(, Thu 8 May 2008, 21:23, archived)
# Nah, no point tampering with them.
The junkies always know.

Did I say "junkies"? Oops. Of course, I mean "clients".

# there's a difference?
does your place do methadone spliffs or do they just supply needles?
(, Thu 8 May 2008, 21:32, archived)
# Managed to avoid doing needle exchange, thank fuck.
30 addicts methadone clients, though, mostly supervised. One of them choked on his first mouthful last week and sprayed the wall and roof with the stuff. We can't get it off the roof tiles, they're covered in green blotches.

# nice
my bro's mate spent about 6 months rolling the spliffs for them when she first qualified, then got a job with one of the big name pharmacies and actually dispenses proper drugs now
(, Thu 8 May 2008, 21:39, archived)
# I am not familiar
with these "methadone spliffs" of which you speak. Are you sure your bro's mate isn't taking the piss?
(, Thu 8 May 2008, 21:50, archived)
# nope
dunno how they do it, she had to be taught. it's the way the controlled it in their pharmacy as there was less chance of it being sold on i think
(, Thu 8 May 2008, 21:53, archived)
# I'm not doubting you
but I just can't see the logic in that. The bioavailable dose would be so variable as to be uncontrolled.

Even when it's supervised, some of the hardcore cases are prone to vomiting it into a plastic bag and selling it on to someone even more desperate. I had one in Kirkcaldy who obviously didn't swallow his methadone, so I followed him to the window and watched him walk away with his pregnant girlfriend. He looked around to see if anyone was watching, then leaned over and "kissed" her (passing it into her mouth).

# if my bro was still in the pool
and i saw her more often i'd ask her, but i dunno enough about pharmacology (see none) to know how it works
(, Thu 8 May 2008, 22:26, archived)
# I'm guessing it was quite a localised trial
and that it wasn't successful, or I would have heard of it.

Mind you, I generally only actually unwrap one Parmaceutical Journal a year, and even then I usually don't actually read it.

# Jesus, I thought my job sucked

(, Thu 8 May 2008, 21:42, archived)
