I was trying like a bastard to get her into the doctors from 8.30 this morning as she was complaining of feeling sick and severe abdominal pain since about 10pm the previous night, and eventually drove her there at 1pm after waiting for two non-existent phone calls to appear from a doctor before 10.30 and 12noon respectively.
She eventually got to see someone at 4.20, and after 30mins examination was told she needed to get herself to the main hospital asap, all the time she's been getting worse and in a hellavu lotta pain.
eventually got to hospital at 6.30pm, she's in agony, and then had to wait until 10 frickin' 30 to get results of blood and other tests and then told,
your appendix is severely inflamed at present, and you have severe blood infection, so we're keeping you in tonight.
thankfully they have her stable and morphined up to the eyeballs, so she's ok until tomorrow morning, when they'll make an assessment on what to do.
/sorry, this reply may have read like a rage against the inadequacies of the nhs here, but I'm glad she's in good hands, although naturally quite worried for her :(

as said, she's in the right place, and all should be groovy. Fingers crossed tomorrow when the consultant sees her
(, Wed 2 Apr 2008, 23:13, archived)
but she's in the right place, and it sounds from what you're saying that they (finally) know what the problem is, and it is a problem that is treatable. Fingers crossed and all that, but it should be OK from here on.
(, Wed 2 Apr 2008, 23:12, archived)
and then they'll really know.

that's terrible mate. I hope everything goes a bit better from now on.
(, Wed 2 Apr 2008, 23:13, archived)
best place for her though...
not going to be easy for you being at home wondering what the hell's going on either, but you'll have to remind yourself that you've done everything you can and try to get some sleep for if/when you're needed tomorrow
hope she's better soon!
